Just a short drive from Topton, North Carolina's Great Smoky Mountains offer breathtaking views and infinite opportunities for hiking (with over 800 miles of trails), wildlife watching, and taking scenic drives.
This massive forest covers over 500,000 acres of protected wilderness. Visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, and even hunting (with the appropriate permits). The forest is also home to a variety of wildlife, including black bears, elk, and rare species of salamanders
Wayah Bald Lookout Tower is a historic lookout tower that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests. You can drive or hike to the tower and climb the stairs for a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains.
